2023 Alpine Chardonnay

We ventured to elevation in the neighbouring Alpine Valley to secure this special parcel of chardonnay fruit. The Greenacres vineyard is perched high on an elevated terrace surrounded by snow capped peaks and crisp mountain air. It’s a perfect location to produce fine, pristine, cool climate chardonnay blessed with natural acidity. 

Handpicked and sorted, gently whole bunch pressed, partial wild fermentation and then matured in the finest French oak for 9 months. Almond blossom, nougat and gun smoke on the nose. The palate is mineral with slatey wet rock combined
with pink grapefruit zest. Oak is subtle and acidity is fresh, with a long fine palate and drive. It’s a more delicate Chardonnay than previous Beechworth releases and will cellar and evolve with time.
